Monte Carlo Fashion Week 2021

The wait will have been worth it, as Monte Carlo Fashion Week will have had the right to a live show for its 9th edition. From 14 to 18 May, fashion shows and events took place in the city. Among others, projects around inclusiveness, creativity and sustainability, meaningful and current topics of the sector.
One of them, called “A Conversation With”, explored with the entrepreneur Brunello Cucinelli, the topics of cultures, art and the future of fashion. Sara Sozzani Maino, head of Vogue Talents and CNMI ambassador and the creators of the Mexican brand Desserto, had a dialogue on the subject of sustainability. Like Audrey Tasiaux, the brand’s artistic director, Diana D’orville, was interviewed by Muriel Piaser. In terms of inclusiveness, Adama Ndiaye, who initiated Dakar Fashion Week, presented Senegalese designers and their creative process to the public.

Creativity also had its own “rendez-vous” during this fashion week. Short films, presentations in person and digitally, based on the creation, imagination and work required for collections, were presented by Sofia Alemani, Beach & Cashmere Monaco, Laura Spreti, Inessa Creations.

And it was also the subject of the second edition of the #SustainableTogether Contest, which rewarded the winning brand for its actions towards protecting the planet and a sustainable vision on all its creations and decisions.

This fashion week took place in person for the privileged ones who could participate in it and the events seen previously. And thanks to the media partners of this fashion week, Fashion Channel, all the events were broadcasted on their Youtube channel.

A fashion week that takes up the codes of the catwalk shows and at the same time includes events and discussions on subjects that are more than necessary in the fashion world. A success for this Monegasque fashion week which reinvents itself with the crisis, as well as the fashion world.
